In 2014, the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) launched a new funding mechanism, the Young Innovators Team Award (YITA), to encourage out-of-the-box thinking and foster leadership skills among young innovators, instilling confidence in them to drive breakthrough research under a collaborative paradigm. ALCF, in collaboration with the Van Auken Private Foundation, is pleased to announce the recipients of our 2014 Young Innovators Team Award.

Congratulations to YITA Award recipients Trever Bivona, MD, PhD (UCSF), Jonathan Riess, MD (UC, Davis) and Ryan Corcoran, MD, PhD (MA General Hospital Cancer Center, Harvard Medical School). This multidisciplinary, cross-institutional team of innovative, young researchers will be working on “Targeting YAP Signaling to Enhance Survival Across Molecular Subtypes of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.” Learn about this talented team whose innovative research holds great promise in evaluating a new drug target in lung cancer and understanding treatment resistance in lung cancer patients.

CALL TO ACTION: To learn about the Young Innovators Team Award and discuss how to collaborate on a future YITA, contact Dr. Guneet Walia, Director, Research and Medical Affairs, [email protected].
